The Boston Tea Party

If you participated in one of the many “Tea Parties” on July 4th or April 15th (or even if you didn’t) you might be interested in a few facts about the original Boston Tea Party. In particular, the documentation below shows that the Tea Party was not a riot or an out of control mob action but a very well thought out act of civil disobedience. In particular, note how the protesters respected the property rights of everyone, except, of course, for the East India Company, who owned the tea. They even “swept the decks clean” and left the ships as they had found them, sans tea.
